Sunday River

Sunday River ski resort is the anchor of Bethel’s tourism economy and one of the best ski mountains in New England. With 135 trails across 8 interconnected peaks, reliable snowmaking, and excellent grooming, Sunday River draws skiers and snowboarders from across the Northeast. The resort also offers summer activities including mountain biking, an aerial adventure park, and scenic chairlift rides.

Summer & Fall

Bethel’s location in the Mahoosuc Range makes it a hiker’s paradise in summer. The Appalachian Trail passes nearby, and Grafton Notch State Park offers spectacular gorges, waterfalls, and summit hikes. The Androscoggin River provides excellent flatwater paddling and fishing. Fall foliage in the Oxford Hills is among the best in Maine, typically peaking in early October.

Bethel Village

Bethel’s historic village green is surrounded by Federal and Victorian architecture, independent shops, and good restaurants. The Bethel Inn Resort is a classic New England resort with golf, a spa, and comfortable accommodations. The town makes an excellent base for exploring the western Maine mountains.
