Portland's Chamber Music Festival
Since its inaugural season in 1994, the Portland Chamber Music Festival has presented fifteen concerts featuring nationally acclaimed performers and composers from the Unites States, England, and Italy.

Portland Symphony Orchestra
With over 38 concerts coming live to the Merrill Auditorium from around the world, The Portland Symphony Orchestra is the place to be this, and any, year.

The 1998 Summer Performance Series

Center for Maine History
At the Center for Maine History, you can experience history firsthand. The Center is comprised of the Maine Historical Society Research Library, the Maine History Gallery, and the historic Wadsworth-Longfellow House.

Gulf of Maine Aquarium
In union with NASA, connected to satellite information, and responsible for expeditions, exhibits, and getting the public actively interested in the Gulf of Maine's ecologies, The Gulf of Maine Aquarium is one of the most entertaining educational resources in the Portland area.

Portland Harbor Museum
The museum is located on the grounds of historic Fort Preble overlooking beautiful Casco Bay. Its permanent exhibit of 19th century wooden shipbuilding includes sections of the South Portland built clipper ship, Snow Squall.

Portland Museum of Art
An extensive collection of fine and decorative arts dates from the 18th century to the present. Works by Winslow Homer, John Singer Sargent, Rockwell Kent, Marsden Hartley, and Andrew Wyeth showcase the unique artistic heritage of Maine.

Portland Public Library
The Portland Public Library in Portland, Maine is a regional library serving over 400,000 library users each year. It is a non-profit organization funded through public and private sources, providing free borrowing privileges to the citizens of York and Cumberland Counties, as well as students and employees in the City of Portland. Those living outside the two county area can acquire a library card by paying an annual fee of $20.
